BISE Rawalpindi was formed in 1977 and since that year the board has been working as a strong body for conducting the examinations of matriculation and intermediate. The board of Rawalpindi undergoes a set rule of instructions and conducts within its jurisdiction and the areas that fall under the umbrella of BISE Rawalpindi are Chakwal, Jhelum and Attock.
BISE Rawalpindi sends out the date sheet for the examinations of matriculation and intermediate one month prior to the commencement of the exams. In March they conduct their matriculation exams and in April they conduct their intermediate exams. Results of matriculation and intermediate are normally announced in July, August and September respectively.
